Bree,

Bree -- it sounds to me like you should read the book to learn a little bit about something you're not that familiar with. Having gay parents isn't something to feel sorry for someone about. And it certainly isn't something to drop dead because of. After you've read the book and learned a little bit about gay families, you might be relieved by finding out that there's one less thing in the world to be so scared of that it would make you want to die. What a relief that will be!

Bree,
It's very unfortunate that you feel that way. I grew up with two lesbian mothers, and thank God for both of them. The notion of wishing death on yourself before having a gay father shows just how much stories like Abigail's are important to hear. There are many, like you, who don't know the facts and figures of gay parenting- the numerous studies all coming to the same conclusion: Children of gays turn out the same- no worse, no better- than children of heterosexuals. Maybe you should consider reading this book. I urge you to educate yourself, understand others, and have compassion. You may be surprised by what you learn.
