Daniel is a Food Service Marketing and Development Professional who grew up in NYC and currently lives in Miami. For many years, Daniel has been a volunteer and participant in organizations fostering support to children of queer parents: Mountain Meadow Summer Camp and COLAGE. It was through Daniel’s introduction to COLAGE during a Family Week in Provincetown that he was introduced to Abigail and “Families Like Mine”.

Daniel writes: “I related to Abigail’s work as she was in the midst of constructing FamiliesLikeMine.com. Although I’m second generation, my father who was bi-sexual and died of AIDS, led a heterosexual lifestyle. For all intents and purposes, I grew up in a ’straight’ household with my mother and father being a happily married hetero couple.”

“As a heterosexual woman who grew up in a culturally queer environment, Abigail’s family construct is uniquely and seemingly opposite to mine. Abigail understands and examines these family differences with the support of a very talented and expressive network of children of queer parents. I decided to participate in Abigail’s work because I am intrigued by her pursuit to study, investigate, and discuss the infinite combinations of family.”
