Les Addison currently lives in Mountain View CA, and grew up in New Orleans, LA.
She says she feels like a pioneer in the community of “adoptees raised by same-sex parents” and is thrilled that younger folks can have their relationships with both of their parents be legally recognized.
Les writes: “I still struggle with the fact that I cause confusion when talking about ‘my mom’ and ‘my step-mom’ and the fact that ‘my mother’ can be either of those women. Being interviewed for this book has been a big help in the ongoing process of grief and the still-continuing fight to have my family recognized as a family.”
