Monica Canfield-Lenfest holds a degree in Anthropology from UMass Boston, where she completed the honors thesis “She’s My Father: The Social Experience of People with Transgender Parents”. She has since become involved with COLAGE, serving for four years as volunteer staff at Family Week Provincetown and for three years as co-coordinator of the Greater Boston COLAGE chapter.

Monica has presented about children of transgender parents at a number of regional and national conferences. In 2007 she worked at the national COLAGE office, developing a resource guide for people with transgender parents. She is interested in meeting other children with transgendered parents and advocates for a deeper understanding and sensitivity to the issues facing family members of transgendered people.
