A daughter thinks her 75-year-old father is bisexual.

Q:

I am a 39 year old woman. My parents have been married for 45 years but I recently come across some evidence that makes me strongly believe that my 75-year-old father has been leading a secret lifestyle of bisexuality.

My father does not know what I have discovered, and I do not want my mother to ever find out. I have only talked to my husband about this, but I have three siblings and am dealing with the decision of whether or not I should tell them. Do I live with this secret forever? Mother to tell daughter: “I’m not gay but my girlfriend is.”

Q:

I am a 39 year old single “straight” mother with a 12-year-old daughter. I have always had a lot of boyfriends and am a typical attractive feminine professional woman. For the past year and a half I have been in a relationship with an “openly” gay woman who is very attractive, feminine, and professional.

I do not consider myself “gay” or “bisexual” so I’m not quite sure how to explain my relationship with this woman to my daughter. Continue reading Mother to tell daughter: “I’m not gay but my girlfriend is.”

She’s bisexual and married to a man.

Q:

I am a bisexual woman married to a man. We have two toddlers. While we might have the outside appearance of being a heterosexual couple, most of our friends and social activities are LGBT.

Our children are definitely being raised in queer culture. How do we explain this to them as they are growing up? Continue reading She’s bisexual and married to a man.

Should a transgender parent come out to his kids and their father?

Q:

I am a transgendered man who left my ex-husband two years ago. I left him for other reasons and did not realize — at least, not consciously — that I was transgender until after I left him.

We have two daughters, 4 and 5, who live with him by my choice. I feel that they’re better placed with him than with me, and I visit them regularly. I have made a lot of positive progress in my life since coming out about my gender identity, and just about everybody in my life knows. But I haven’t been able to get up the nerve to come out to my ex. Continue reading Should a transgender parent come out to his kids and their father?

Gay husband jealous of wife’s new boyfriend.

Q:

I am a bisexual married man who came out to my wife after 20 years together. My motivation was simply to be honest, and I have been since. We have three young beautiful kids and we love each other very much. I am in the foreign service and we love to travel, live abroad, and have so much in common that we are totally comfortable with our lives.

Since I came out two years ago — an agonizing process — my wife has been accepting and considerate of my situation. Continue reading Gay husband jealous of wife’s new boyfriend.
